"Acid River" 4th Grade Team Building Activity

The kids were in groups of 7, and then had to figure out how to get their whole team across the river.  The river was acid, so if they touched it they had to start over.  The students had to work together to figure out how to get across.

The Sorting!

We have a Harry Potter theme for our class this year, and on Friday we got "sorted" into our "houses"!  At Hogwarts there are four "houses" or groups.  First year students are sorted into their houses on their first night by having the sorting hat placed on their heads, which then declares which house they should belong to.  We adapted this ritual for our class!  We have six tables, so we are going to have six houses (Gryffindor, Slytherin, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff, Durmstrang, and Beauxbatons).  In lieu of a sorting hat we used a jester hat.  Students will enjoy their new seating arrangement, sitting with their housemates starting on Monday!

 Lexi got sorted into Durmstrang!

Paige is delighted to join the Beauxbatons!

James also joins Beauxbatons!

 Eric joins the loyal Hufflepuffs!

Thanks to David for taking the pictures.  :)
